Spanish Civil War and Education

As part of its cultural activities, the Documentation Centre on the Bombing of Gernika organises bibliographic exhibitions to disseminate its collection of books.

On this occasion, the theme is the Spanish Civil War and Education. School textbooks are an essential pedagogical tool in the formation and transmission of historical knowledge to younger generations. They are also fundamental instruments in the teaching work of teachers. Based on this premise, this exhibition brings together a selection of monographs that show how Francoism indoctrinated society through education.

All the exposed documents are preserved in the deposits of the Documentation Center and are available for consultation.
