87th anniversary of the bombing of Gernika

Under the motto “Remembering the bombing of Gernika” we present to you the program of the 87th anniversary of the bombing of the Gernika Peace Museum for this 2024.

Memoritour (16 September)

To mark its 20th anniversary, the Gernika Peace Museum is organising several Memoritours to visit places of remembrance and monuments to the victims of the Civil War in the Basque Country, guided by explanations from professor and expert on the subject Jesús Alonso Carballés.

Record number of visitors in 2023

The Gernika Peace Museum closes 2023, the year in which it celebrated its 25th anniversary, with record numbers of visitors.

There have been 60,562 visitors to the Gernika Peace Museum in 2023, 15,912 more than in 2022 and surpassing all records (previously obtained with the 53,000 visitors in 2019 pre-pandemic).
