Heritage days (October), Route Monuments and Memory of Gernika

The Gernika Peace Museum offers this walking tour of the monuments of Gernikain which the memorial, symbolic, historical and cultural heritage of the town is shown as one more activity of the Heritage Days that are held annually during the month of October.

Gernika is today a symbol of peace. Here, memory is at the service of reconciliation and through a process started in the 80s different monuments have spread throughout the city.

From the hand of artists such as Eduardo Chillida, Henry Moore or Nestor Basterretxea, among others, we will be touring the town and we will let its monuments speak to us and through materials such as stone, bronze, steel or brick, they will tell us what happened here.
