The War Correspondents
The Gernika Peace Museum offers the program “Memoritour Gernika” consisting of several guided tours in which the memorial, symbolic, historical and cultural heritage of the town is presented.
War correspondents are the ones who transmit the events and developments of wars and conflicts in the world. How did the bombing of Gernika become known?
War correspondents are the eyes and ears of the world in armed conflicts. Their job is to document, investigate and courageously report on what is happening on the battlefronts or in areas ravaged by violence. Amidst chaos and danger, these professionals reveal not only the strategic evolution of wars, but also the suffering of the victims and the human consequences.
Please arrive at the museum reception at least 10 minutes before your tour begins.
The tour starts outside the Gernika Peace Museum and includes visits to landmarks such as Andra Mari Church and Pasileku, the Ferial and the bust of G. Steer.
From 27 January to 30 June 2026 and from 1 September to 29 December 2026.
10.15 am, 11.30 am y 12.45 pm
