Woman and the Spanish Civil War
This is a selection of monographs concerning the participation and experiences of women during the Spanish Civil War.
When the war broke out in July 1936, women’s life is profoundly transformed and even though the hard living conditions they played a political, social and military roles. So, they organized to grip arms, to work in weapon factories or become a war correspondents, contributing to the war effort.
It is a journey through the lives of those women that war move away from their traditional role in society and the limitations imposed on the grounds of sex. A war that led many of them to death, jail or exile.
All these monographs are kept at our Documentation Center and they will be available for consultation.
