Summer camps
The Education Department of the Gernika Peace Museum, together with the Community of Social Services of Busturialdea, has organised summer camps for children in September.
The Education Department of the Gernika Peace Museum, together with the Community of Social Services of Busturialdea, has organised summer camps for children from 2-5 September. Apart from having fun, their main objective is to educate them in respect, coexistence and interculturality.
Theme: Being children in the world
The lives of children vary greatly from one continent to another. Through the programme ‘Being a child in the world’, children in the region will learn about childhood in other parts of the world. The aim is to develop empathy towards other cultures.
- We will travel with our senses (smells, tastes, etc.).
- We will prepare a breakfast with ingredients from different areas.
- We will learn about customs that are ‘normal’ in some countries and inappropriate in others.
- We will complete an escape room challenge on children’s rights.
- We will organise a party from a culture different to our own.
