Childhood and Civil War
Presentation
The Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) affected the entire population. The children suffered the consequences of the war in a severe way being exposed to diseases due to lack of food and poor hygienic conditions. Many of them were taken to other countries, France being the first host country. It is believed that the total number of evacuees amounted to 35,000.
