Summer camps

The Education Department of the Gernika Peace Museum, together with the Community of Social Services of Busturialdea, has organised summer camps for children from 2-5 September. Apart from having fun, their main objective is to educate them in respect, coexistence and interculturality.

Theme: Being children in the world

The lives of children vary greatly from one continent to another. Through the programme ‘Being a child in the world’, children in the region will learn about childhood in other parts of the world. The aim is to develop empathy towards other cultures.

• We will travel with our senses (smells, tastes, etc.).
• We will prepare a breakfast with ingredients from different areas.
• We will learn about customs that are ‘normal’ in some countries and inappropriate in others.
• We will complete an escape room challenge on children’s rights.
• We will organise a party from a culture different to our own.
