Never again! Images of war 1936-1939

Never again! Images of war 1936-1939 It’is a selection of the best images -over 100 of them- from the book of the same title published by the Sabino Arana Foundation, showing the violence wreaked in the Basque Country during the Spanish Civil War from 1936 to 1939.

The images are accompanied by the testimony of many people and qualified observers, who relate their experiences and express their opinions on what they saw and suffered. However, this exhibition was conceived so that we do not forget how much countries suffer in times of war, and the desolation of the survivors; the harsh history of the Basque Country during those times; and also, so that no-one is tempted in the future to deny the authenticity of the experiences of our ancestors, and so that this will never be repeated.

The testimonies and photos are accompanied by a slide show of history immediately before the events: King Alfonso XIII, social life in different areas of the Basque Country, the First World War and the Second Spanish Republic, etc.
