Presentation
The balance of the summer has been very positive. Both July and August have surpassed the 2019 visitor figures (pre-pandemic) and September has started off very well too.
Summer visitors
June: 1.323
July: 4.354
August: 8.674
January-august (2021): 15.579 visitors
This year we can say that we have had many tourists from areas that until now did not visit the museum so often, such as Andalusia, Castilla la Mancha, Castilla León, Aragón, Asturias, and Catalans, Valencians and people from Madrid have continued to come, as usual. As far as foreigners are concerned, French, Italians, Portuguese... have been some of the most frequent visitors in the summer.
The entire museum team has done a great job to – safely and following health guidelines at the different times of the pandemic – provide a complete service to its visitors by facilitating the purchase of tickets online, using new ticket sales channels (Civitatis, Basque Tourism…) and offering hourly passes for 10 people every 10 minutes, which has ensured that the visit – even at peak times – has been of high quality and never overcrowded.
